We accept our own experiences and how they have shaped us. We accept that others have different perspectives based on their own experiences. We respect other people's right to express their point of view. We are open to feedback and support. We celebrate differences in others. We do the right thing and uphold good morals. We take responsibility for ourselves. We take risks in our learning. We allow ourselves to be vulnerable. We ask lots of questions. We wonder aloud We are not defined by labels, we are curious about ourselves and others. We want to learn new things. We are hard working. We are aspirational. We are resilient. We are committed.

Admissions Criteria

All admissions are managed by the Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Inclusion Department based at Enfield's Civic Centre with close liaison with the school. The SENCO at the pupil's present school will hold an Annual Review of the Education, Health and Care Plan. Through this process, a 'change of placement' may be decided in order to meet the pupil's needs. SEN services consult with provisions based on the needs outlined in the EHCP and parental preference. Should a place at Fern House School be offered, all families will be invited to attend the school for a meeting and together with their input, an integration plan will be designed to enable the pupil to experience as much success as possible to set them up for a positive start at Fern House School. No admissions are dealt with directly by the school. Further to this we are aware that Fern House School is a provision that families may come across either through their own research or from conversations with local authority council departments. Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate individual visits on site by appointment. We hold an open afternoon once a month in which we welcome visitors for a tour. We must add that we are unable to answer any questions during the tour about whether we have space or can necessarily meet the needs of the children in question, and even if you attend a tour here it is not a guarantee that your child will be offered a place at the school. If you have any questions about places at the school please contact your local authority SEN department. If you are a Local Authority, please send consultations directly to Enfield SEN ([email protected]). Consultations sent to school based email addresses may not be responded to.
