UK School Explorer helps parents make informed decisions about their children's education by providing comprehensive, easy-to-understand data about every state-funded school in England.
Why We Built This
Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions parents make. While government data is publicly available, it's often scattered across multiple websites, buried in spreadsheets, and difficult to compare.
We created UK School Explorer to:
- Centralise Information - Bring together performance data, Ofsted reports, attendance rates, and school characteristics in one place
- Make Data Accessible - Present complex statistics in clear, parent-friendly formats
- Enable Comparison - Allow side-by-side comparison of schools to help identify the best fit
- Provide Context - Show how schools perform relative to similar schools and national averages
What Makes Us Different

We cover all 25,000+ state-funded schools in England, from nurseries to sixth form colleges.
Up-to-Date Information
Our data is refreshed regularly from official government sources, including the latest Ofsted inspection results and performance table data.
Beyond Test Scores
While exam results matter, we also show attendance rates, pupil destinations, subject offerings, and school characteristics that paint a fuller picture.
New Ofsted Framework
We support the new Ofsted report cards launched in November 2025, showing detailed assessments across six key areas including inclusion, wellbeing, and curriculum quality.

UK School Explorer is an independent project. We don't accept payments from schools, don't promote particular institutions, and don't alter data. Every school is presented using the same objective criteria from official government sources.
