"Love, Learn, Laugh"
A warm welcome from Penny Doswell, The Avenue School Headteacher. As part of The Rise Partnership Trust, the school is committed to championing unique potential and pursuing excellence, guided by the Trust’s mission “love, learn, laugh.” The message emphasises partnership with families, an aspirational and nurturing environment, and a focus on improving pupils’ lives and outcomes through outstanding practice.
The Avenue School educates children and young people aged 4/5–18 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated learning difficulties. All pupils have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP). The educational provision is based upon the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and uses Verbal Behaviour (VB) teaching methodologies. Brent residents are prioritised, but pupils from other boroughs are also welcomed. The admissions process includes talking to the local authority SEN team, informal school visits, local authority referral, formal assessment, meetings with the child, and final placement decisions communicated by the local authority.
