Executive Headteacher Angela Moore describes The Southover Partnership as a warm, inclusive, child-centered independent special school focusing on SEMH, autism and complex needs, with a commitment to tailored education, the arts and strong home–school partnerships.

Curriculum Highlights

Attachment Theory-based curriculum with a small-school model to support secure attachments Individualised curriculum design based on EHCP and pupil needs rather than a fixed national curriculum Wide qualification offer including Entry Level 1/2/3, Functional Skills Level 1&2, GCSE, A-Level, Vocational Level 1/2/3, and AQA Unit Awards Pupils may pursue more than one qualification over time with exams entered when ready Subjects across English, Mathematics, Science, Design Technology, ICT, Art, Music, PE, PSHE and Humanities Preparation for Adulthood and Careers provision embedded in PSHE and tutorials, with a Careers Lead Embedded British Values and Protection of Characteristics within the PSHE curriculum and broader school culture Reading for pleasure and a literacy/numeracy focus embedded across subjects External partnerships and trips (eg Freightliners Farm, Equine Therapy) and college split placements for post-16 pathways Individualised pace and pathway planning with flexible progression towards qualifications and destinations

SEND Provision

The Southover Partnership provides universal, targeted and specialist therapeutic support within the school day, including Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Counselling, delivered through a therapy pyramid approach with liaison to external professionals as required.
