"Being the Best We Can Be"
Clare Power is the Head Teacher, starting in September 2024. She has over twenty years of teaching experience, including seventeen years in special education, and emphasises putting children and families first with staff passionate about providing the best education.
Acorn Assessment Centre supports pre-school children with a wide range of SEND, including medical conditions, physical disabilities, social and communication differences, autism, and other learning needs. It provides ongoing multi-disciplinary intervention to help children make progress. Therapy input is guided by therapists within the Whittington Health NHS Integrated Therapy Services, and staff work alongside Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists. Children attend three-hour sessions, up to five times per week (total 15 hours). A Family Support Worker helps families develop strategies for communication and other areas of development.
Children who come to Oakleigh School have an Education, Health and Care Plan where the Local Authority has named our school. Admissions details are available in the Admissions Policy.
