SEND Provision

Oak Lodge partners with NHS services to provide speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy when indicated on a student’s EHCP. The school employs its own physiotherapist and physiotherapy assistant, a communication teacher and a specialist counsellor, and it commissions a freelance music therapist (one day a week) and a movement and play therapist (two days a week). Therapies are tailored to individual needs and integrated into daily routines as part of a holistic approach to wellbeing and learning; therapists work alongside teaching staff in classrooms to maximise impact.

Admissions Criteria

Oak Lodge is a converter Special Academy funded for 195 places for students aged 11-19 with a wide range of learning difficulties. Admission requires the school to be named in the pupil’s Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP). The majority of pupils are Barnet residents, but the school works with other local authorities as appropriate. Interested families should contact the school to arrange a visit; Barnet residents should contact the Special Needs Department ([email protected]) for admission processes, while those living outside Barnet should contact their local authority.
