St Mark’s is a Catholic primary school that uses the Come & See religious education programme, with Masses and liturgies throughout the year. The school follows Catholic teaching and emphasises a Christ-centered community. Religious education is core, with Sacramental preparation (Reconciliation and First Holy Communion) in Year 4, Life to the Full RHE programme, and strong parish links including Mini Vinnies and Faith in Action activities. The school also designates a Year of Prayer and provides resources such as a school prayerbook and opportunities for prayer and reflection.
St Mark’s is a thriving, successful Catholic school on the edge of Westerhope and Newbiggin Hall in Newcastle upon Tyne. We provide a broad and exciting education for children aged three to eleven and aim to provide a welcoming, learning community where your child can flourish. Our aim is to educate to children's 'head, heart and hands'; this means that we give them the curriculum knowledge, practical skills and spiritual, moral and cultural formation they need to grow into happy and successful young people.
