Head Teacher Nicola Watkin welcomes visitors, describes The Suthers School as a new, non-selective secondary school in Fernwood with a state-of-the-art building, and highlights a curriculum that excites, nurtures passions, and develops knowledge, skills and character to prepare students for the future.

Curriculum Highlights

KS3 is a 3-year programme covering core subjects (English, Maths, Science, MFL, Humanities) plus Art, Music, Drama, Design Technology, PE, PSHE and Religion and Social Studies. KS4 is a 2-year programme (Years 10-11) with GCSE and CNAT qualifications, following an EBACC pathway (English, Maths, Science, a Modern Foreign Language, and a Humanities subject) with a range of optional subjects including Art, Music, Drama, Geography, History, Business Studies, PE, Engineering, Health and Social Care, Textiles and Hospitality and Catering. The curriculum aims to provide a broad and balanced education with enrichment and personal development integrated.
