Headteacher welcomes visitors to Washwood Heath Academy, emphasising an all-through school (EYFS–Sixth Form), the HEARTS ethos and a partnership with families to provide a high-quality, broad and balanced curriculum in a caring, inclusive environment.

All-through curriculum covering Primary to Sixth Form 3-year Key Stage 3 and 2-year Key Stage 4 Broad National Curriculum with ESOL/ ASDAN and some Entry Level qualifications where needed Emphasis on knowledge-rich learning and disciplinary literacy across subjects Curriculum constructed to reflect local context and develop cultural capital Strong focus on functional literacy, vocabulary and numeracy to maximise future learning and employment Opportunities for learning outside the classroom to enhance enrichment and progression to Post-16

Washwood Heath Academy is a member of the NewStart programme, a Birmingham Education Partnership initiative funded by the NHS to promote mental health and emotional well-being. NewStart is led by the NHS and Birmingham Education Partnership and aims to build resilience and well-being in the school community by helping staff recognise early signs of emotional health needs and to put support in place.
