Curriculum Highlights

KS3 curriculum is broad and aligned to the National Curriculum, with foundation skills built on from Key Stage 2 KS3 delays GCSE choices until the end of Year 9 to prevent narrowing From Year 10 onwards, curriculum is matched to the demands of examination courses At KS5 students can take an academic A level pathway, a vocational BTEC pathway, or a combination of the two PSHE and Relationships and Sex Education are included to support personal development, workforce readiness and lifelong learning All teachers embody Catholic Social Teaching with a focus on inclusion; Cornerstones for Learning guide lesson design; trips, clubs, student voice and career links are incorporated

SEND Provision

We have a three-tiered approach to supporting SEN: Universal (class-teachers make minor adaptations); Targeted (bespoke intervention); Specialist (involving the use of external professionals). The SENCO can be contacted for assistance, and annual reviews are held for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). We work with external agencies and there is a SEN Governor overseeing this area.
