Executive Principal Tony MacDowall welcomes Pimlico Academy, describing it as one of the top schools in London with a vision of 'Freedom through Education'. The curriculum is knowledge-rich and delivered by subject-specialist teachers, underpinned by the school values of Knowledge, Aspiration and Respect.

Curriculum Highlights

Knowledge-rich, well-sequenced curriculum designed to build knowledge step by step. Curriculum Centre – Centrally Planned, Locally Owned with local implementation by Pimlico Academy staff. Powerful teaching and professional development for staff, including weekly co-planning and instructional coaching. Reading Guarantee to support reading proficiency and reading for pleasure. Ruth Miskin Fresh Start phonics intervention for students needing phonics support. Broad Key Stage 3 and 4 subject offerings across arts, languages, sciences, and humanities.

SEND Provision

Pastoral and inclusion teams work hand-in-hand with teaching staff throughout the day, to ensure students are supported academically, socially and emotionally. The academy takes a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, with swift action, transparent communication and highly visible staff who build strong relationships with students. Through high-quality pastoral education, assemblies and tutor time, students develop the character, habits and self-discipline needed to flourish at school and beyond.

Admissions Criteria

Year 7 admissions are via Westminster City Council. For September 2026 entry, applications for Year 7 were closed; offers will be made on 1 March 2026; successful applicants will be invited to Transition Day in July 2026. For Year 7 2027 admissions, there will be Open Events in Summer 2026 and Autumn 2026; to receive updates, join the Pimlico Academy Year 6 Admissions mailing list.
