Ethos & Values

"An Opportunity to Excel"

Equality Diversity Inclusion

As a Church of England School, the ethos is grounded in Anglican tradition. Collective worship is centred on the Eucharist and marks the major festivals of other traditions and religions. Our Christian vision and ethos is based on Colossians 3.12-17. Collective worship begins in St Marylebone Parish Church, our School Chapel, and then permeates the whole life of our school community. A School Chaplain leads worship and acts to communicate our Church of England ethos to everyone.

Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher: Kathryn Pugh. The school’s strategic and spiritual purpose includes pursuit of excellence in academics and culture, high-quality education with full regard for personal, social, ethnic and cultural identities, and a Church of England ethos; the ethos is grounded in Colossians 3.12-17 and worship begins in the Parish Church and School Chapel.

Admissions Criteria

The St Marylebone CE School is highly oversubscribed and places only become available if an existing student leaves. We do not operate a ranked order waiting list but we do keep information on file of those looking for a place at the school. We are not academically selective. The report will be used to place your daughter in one of four ability bands (A, B, C, D). The band is only for the purposes of admissions.
