Welcome message from the Headteacher notes Sidney Stringer Academy caters for around 1,450 students aged 11–19 (including a large sixth form), opened in 2010 and moved to a new building in 2011. It is the lead school in the Sidney Stringer Multi Academy Trust, which includes five schools. The school emphasises outstanding education, high standards, and active partnership with parents and the community; Ofsted judged the academy outstanding in Leadership and Management, Personal Development and Sixth-form provision in 2023.

Admissions are handled by the Local Authority under Coventry City Council’s admissions policy. The academy operates a sixth form for up to 300 students; Year 12 entry requires minimum academic entry requirements; internal and external applicants must meet course entry requirements; if oversubscribed external applicants may be refused; waiting lists are used in line with the Local Authority policy; right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.
