To be eligible for admission to The Island Project School, pupils must have a primary diagnosis of Autism, have an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), and have an agreement from their Local Authority. All places are Local Authority placements and admissions occur only in consultation with the Local Authority. The Local Authority may assess suitability; the School will review space and impact before confirming potential placement. If placement is agreed, the Education team will carry out an assessment prior to a formal offer of placement. Pupils can be admitted at any point during the academic year once placement is confirmed. A transition plan is drawn up based on the pupil’s needs, usually planned gradually over weeks or months. There is an Admissions Enquiry Form under the ‘contact’ section of the website.
