St Ambrose Barlow is a Catholic Primary School where Gospel values are central. SEND Provision

SEND provision is overseen by the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (Mrs Holden). Pupils needing SEND support have Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Progress is tracked using the Insight platform with regular reviews, and plans may involve referrals to external professionals. If needed, the Local Authority may consider an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Admissions Criteria

For 2026-27, St Ambrose Barlow is a Catholic Voluntary Aided School with an published admissions number of 30. Oversubscription criteria include: Looked After and Previously Looked After children; Baptised Catholic children with a sibling; Baptised Catholic children resident in the parish of St Margaret Clitherow; Other baptised Catholics; Other children who have a sibling in the school; Children from other Christian denominations; Children of other faiths; Other children. If places remain, proximity (distance) is used as a tiebreaker. Children with a Statement of SEN or EHCP naming the school are offered a place.
