"LEARNING THROUGH FAITH, LOVE AND RESPECT"
St Marie’s is a Catholic school with Jesus at the centre of all they do. The Come and See programme and Collective Worship themes provide a formal framework for spiritual development. The school’s Catholic Social Teaching (CST) underpins daily life, linking faith to action through events and activities. The school hosts a Gift Team (GIFT), CAFOD involvement, and distributes CST themes via assemblies and “Faith In Action” activities. CST has seven principles: Dignity of the Human Person; Family and Community; Solidarity and the Common Good; Dignity of Work; Rights and Responsibilities; Option for the Poor and Vulnerable; Stewardship. Collective worship occurs in class twice weekly, with worship led by a dedicated team, and parents and parish connections encouraged through parish life and sacraments.
Headteacher Mrs F Jackson introduces St Marie’s as an ‘Outstanding’ Catholic school with a warm, family ethos. She highlights Jesus at the centre of all they do, a committed staff, high expectations, and a strong faith-based curriculum supported by Gospel values.
