Clubs
In September 2022 Leigh Central Primary School became a Resourced Provision (The Hive) with an additional 5 places for pupils from Reception to Year 6 who have ASD or other Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN); The Hive is staffed by trained personnel to support these pupils, with personalised plans, potential involvement of external agencies, and a Graduated Approach to meeting needs; progress is monitored, and an EHCP may be considered if needed.
Leigh Central is a Local Authority Community school admitting 30 Reception pupils each September. Admissions are coordinated by the Wigan School Places Team. Applications for Reception must be made through the Local Authority (online at www.wigan.gov.uk or via a Wigan Council primary school application form). Open days are held each November/December; initial Welcome meeting, INSPIRE sessions, and home visits are offered to help families become familiar with the school; registering interest does not guarantee a place.
