Headteacher Kate Baskeyfield welcomes families and describes Kingsway as a welcoming, values-based, one-form entry primary school in Davyhulme with high academic expectations and a strong focus on well-being and community; Kingsway Way guides the school’s approach to education.

Curriculum Highlights

English: Reading-inspired curriculum with high-quality texts underpinning all subjects; phonics taught consistently through Little Wandle from EYFS to Year 2 with targeted support into KS2; in reading, guided sessions with Reading Gems, rich vocabulary teaching and daily book talk; writing developed through WAGOLLs, talk for writing, grammar mastery and a full writing process; oracy embedded in every unit. Mathematics: Mastery approach using White Rose and NCETM maths recovery; emphasis on communication, fluency, problem solving and reasoning; Core Skills Development sessions for individual or group problem solving. Computing: Aims to build digital literacy and safe online use; curriculum focuses on using information technology to create, systems and content; foundational knowledge of computer science concepts.
