Admissions Criteria

Portland School admits pupils who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and have Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs identified as their primary need. Additional possible needs includeAttachment difficulties, Autism Spectrum Condition, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Moderate learning needs, Physical disabilities, and Sensory impairments. The admissions process includes staged induction and readiness steps prior to full-time attendance, with typical start dates about three weeks after naming in the EHCP Section I.
