"Aspire not to have more, but to be more"
Sacred Heart Catholic Academy is a Catholic school with Christ at the centre of all that we do. Gospel values extend throughout all aspects of school life, including daily Prayer and Liturgy, a dedicated Chaplaincy, and opportunities to access Sacraments. The seven strands of Catholic Social Teaching are embedded throughout the curriculum: Preferential Option for the Poor; Stewardship; Rights and Responsibilities; Dignity of Workers; Solidarity; Community; Care for God's Creation. The school works in close partnership with local parishes and charities, donates to the local food bank, and aims to develop students who are faithful, compassionate and engaged in the wider community.
Headteacher message: It is a great privilege to lead Sacred Heart Catholic Academy, a school where the holistic development of pupils is the core purpose. The vision is to develop the ‘Sacred Heart Family’ and be the heartbeat of the local community. The values are Love, Ambition, Service and Respect. The curriculum is broad and balanced, with a bespoke Personal Health, Social and Citizenship Education programme and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The school aims for academic excellence and personal development within a strong Catholic identity and high behaviour standards.
