Love Respect Service Ambition

Holy Family Catholic High School is a Catholic school whose ethos flows through every aspect of school life. Catholic Social Teaching underpins policies and learning; daily Prayer and Liturgy are central, with a Walk of Faith tradition including a service at St Mary’s Church in Little Crosby; the curriculum reflects Gospel Values such as Love, Respect, Service and Ambition; the school aims to help pupils live out Gospel values in daily life.

Headteacher Mr Matthew Symes describes Holy Family as a high achieving Catholic 11-18 school where pupils feel safe and happy. The school is large enough to offer extensive learning opportunities but small enough to know each pupil individually, and is aspirational for all students with a strong partnership between school, home, church and community.

Curriculum Highlights

RE curriculum anchored in Gospel Values and Catholic faith, delivered entirely by subject specialists, across Years 7–13; aims to develop students spiritually, morally and intellectually. Personal Development programme linked to Catholic Social Teaching as a moral compass, with CST pillars including Dignity, Respect, Solidarity, The Common Good, Option for the Poor, Peace, The Dignity of Work and Participation, Creation and Environment. Walk of Faith is a termly tradition blending reflection, faith and community with a service at St Mary’s Church, Little Crosby. Catholic Life and Mission integrated across curriculum and school policies; CST informs curriculum across subjects.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

School is open from 8:00am until 6:00pm daily, with the pupil school day 8:45am–3:15pm. A breakfast provision runs from 8:15am as part of the National Schools Breakfast Programme. A late bus operates to take pupils home on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 4:30pm. Homework Club and various after-school clubs run through the week.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are via the Sefton online application form. A Supplementary Faith Form must be completed and evidence of faith provided (baptism certificate or a Minister of Religion completing Section B). Proof of address must be provided.
