Admissions Criteria

Bader Academy is a special school with 100 planned places for children aged 5-19 years. Admission requires the local authority to name the school in the child’s Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Parents should ask their local authority to name the school in the EHCP. A local authority can refer a child to the school to be assessed for an EHCP, or for their needs to be assessed or reassessed. Any assessment should be completed within 20 weeks. Children being assessed for an EHCP will be dual registered and will return full time to their mainstream school if the Local Authority decides not to issue an EHCP. The school is not responsible for the allocation of school places.
