Places are prioritised for: (1) a person who has suffered continual bullying; (2) a committed desire to learning (with evidence); (3) a person with social differences (including but not limited to autism) that may make them a target for bullying/isolation; (4) a person with school/peer-related anxiety or phobias; (5) a person not able to access social or group learning environments due to any of the above; (6) a person with medical or social needs that require flexischooling. SAFE is open to children with or without an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) provided the admissions criteria are met, and an initial Needs and Support Assessment determines whether SAFE can meet the child’s needs. A Needs and Support Assessment form is the first step in the application process.
Standard placement: £28,000 per year (includes all resources and materials, small class sizes, TA support in class, access to counsellor, up to 10 hours in total of OT, SLT or EP as needed). High Need placement: £40,000 per year (illustrative; base provision plus 1:1 in class, 1:2 support in unstructured time, ongoing interventions from OT, SLT and/or EP). Costs vary depending on individual need. A £150 admin fee may be required to hold a place. Bursaries may be available; details are provided in the bursaries policy and cost breakdowns can be requested. Remote and part-time placements are available in some circumstances.
