A warm welcome from Academy Head Lukasz Rumanowski: Riverwalk School is a vibrant special school in Bury St Edmunds. We place our pupils at the heart of everything we do, recognising and celebrating each individual’s strengths, interests and achievements. The school aims to foster communication, independence, confidence and a love of learning within a community built on kindness, respect and aspiration.
The school has a range of specialised services available to pupils including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.
Admissions to Riverwalk School are made through the Local Authority. Suffolk County Council administers the admission process. All our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Riverwalk School has 205 places and caters for children from Reception up to Year 11 (ages 4-19). The primary needs catered for include Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, SLD and PMLD; admissions may take place at any time during the year if places are available. After an offer by the Local Authority and a final EHCP is received, we may discuss ‘taster’ visits for your child.
