Curriculum Highlights

BRAVE Curriculum (Bespoke, Reflective, Aspirational, Valuable, Engaging) designed to support lifelong learning. Home and Community-Based Learning features on every timetable, including basic travel training, visits to local shops, horse riding and community activities. Older pupils may engage in college placements, travel training, health and fitness activities, and independent living tasks. BRAVE Curriculum focuses on developing Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, and Creative Arts.

Admissions Criteria

Hillside offers provision for pupils from Reception up to Year 11 (up to Year 14 for pupils with a PMLD diagnosis). All pupils will already have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and a diagnosis of Severe or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD or PMLD). Hillside is not suitable for pupils without an EHCP or with a Diagnosis of Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Admissions are arranged by Suffolk County Council's Inclusion Family Services Team in discussion with families, Hillside, and the pupil's current setting. Visits/open days are by pre-arrangement.
