Curriculum Highlights

Shine Curriculum is rooted in the school mission and Christian Values and goes beyond the National Curriculum to provide varied opportunities. Core Curriculum includes Reading, Writing and Maths; Foundation Subjects include RE, Science, History, Geography, Computing, Design Technology, Art & Design, PE, Music, Languages, PSHE, and Early Years. The curriculum promotes equal opportunity, celebrates the richness and diversity of Bolton, Britain and the wider world, and prepares pupils to be global citizens. Digital literacy and computing confidence are valued; students learn to keep safe while being creative with IT. The Shine Curriculum aims to prepare students for secondary school academically, emotionally and physically, with strong personal values and a ‘can do’ attitude. Students are encouraged to take risks and experience learning beyond the classroom; long-term curriculum overviews are available via links.
