Bluecoat Wollaton Academy is a Church of England academy with Christian Distinctiveness; the academy’s mission is to believe in yourself, in others and in God (Luke 10:27); local church links include St Mary’s Wollaton Park, St Leonard’s Church Wollaton and Reverend Pullen; the school welcomes students of all faiths and none and centers Christian character in its activities.

SEND provision includes assessment of needs on entry, development of an IER/SEND Register, and regular review; there are IEPs/Pupil Passports for pupils on the SEND Register; interventions include Year group Homework support clubs, Knowledge Organiser Support, handwriting intervention, SPLD clinics, 1:1 homework support for GCSE, ELSA sessions, Braille and mobility training; external agencies such as LA BEHT, SaLT, CAMHS, LA Autism Team, LA Inclusive Support Team, LA Educational Psychology Service, LA Sensory Team, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Community Paediatrics and Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy are engaged; annual reviews for EHC plans are held and information is shared with parents.
