A warm welcome from the Executive Principal and the Duke’s Aldridge Academy community. The school is described as a lively, multi-ethnic, aspirational academy with the motto Inspire to Excel, focused on developing learners’ academic and social skills in a safe, engaging environment.

Curriculum Highlights

Expressive Arts motto: Excellence in all we do and a high-quality arts curriculum embedded across the academy. Strong literacy and oracy focus within lessons. Partnerships with external arts organisations: Chickenshed Theatre (outreach projects with around 150 students annually), Saatchi Gallery collaborations, and masterclasses with professional actors and artists. Music projects including Prince’s Trust and London Sinfonietta Orchestra Schools project; instrumental tuition subsidised (80% reduction) with up to 10 instruments offered. Duke’s Aldridge Academy Ambassador and Scholars programme to identify more able and talented students. Saturday school offering a high-quality Media study programme (script writing, filming, video editing). Whole-academy productions (e.g., Oliver, Scrooge, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and GCSE Drama public performances at Chickenshed Theatre. Duke’s Voices choir performing at notable venues (e.g., Royal Albert Hall). Extensive enrichment and arts-focused extracurricular activity across the curriculum.

Admissions Criteria

The published admission number (PAN) for Year 7 at Duke’s Aldridge Academy is 210. Applications for places are made through the Haringey Council. Open Mornings are advertised, with Applications Open on 1 September 2024 and an Application Deadline of 31 October 2024; Confirmation of offers on 1 March 2025.
