Head Teacher's Message

Mulberry Academy Woodside is a mixed 11–16 comprehensive school serving a truly multi-cultural community. It values every student and provides opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom, with a aim that all students leave the school as highly qualified, confident and articulate young adults.

Curriculum Highlights

Key Stage 3 spans Years 7, 8 and 9 with students beginning GCSE courses at the start of Year 10 and a three-year KS3 to build knowledge, literacy and numeracy. Key Stage 4 runs from Year 10 to Year 11 with a core curriculum of English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science, Religious Education and Core Physical Education, alongside optional subjects chosen through the Year 9 options process. Inclusion and SEND support is designed to be inclusive by default, with high expectations for all learners. Subjects and Curriculum Overview include Art & Photography; Computer Science; Design & Technology; Drama; English; French; Geography; History; Maths; Music; Physical Education; PSHE; Religious Studies; Spanish; Science. Woodside’s Teaching and Learning Pillars underpin high-quality teaching to ensure clarity, challenge and purposeful practice in every lesson.

SEND Provision

The Inclusion Department provides access to the curriculum for those with SEND. The SENDCo, team of Mentors, Student Support Centre Manager, counsellor and Teaching Assistants work with teachers and students in lessons and intervention time to ensure all students have access to support. They coordinate support from a speech and language therapist, a behaviour therapist, Haringey Emotional Wellbeing Service, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.

Mulberry Academy Woodside follows admission arrangements set out by Haringey Council. Oversubscription criteria include: Children in Care/Looked After Children; Social Medical (exceptional medical or social need for a place at one specific school, supported by a statement from a professional); Brother or Sister already attending the school; and Home address distance to the school.
