In Reception, the concept of Learning Through Play is used to develop pupils’ knowledge in 7 curriculum areas: 3 prime areas (Personal, Social and Emotional development; Physical development; Communication and Language development) and 4 specific areas (Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; Expressive Arts and Design). There are carpet sessions to focus on basic maths and literacy, reading books sent home daily, and 10 minutes daily reading practice at home.
