Principal’s welcome: Bottisham Village College is a member of Anglian Learning, a multi-academy trust of 16 schools; the college describes itself as a highly-ambitious, highly-innovative and highly regarded comprehensive school in rural East Cambridgeshire, and outlines its aim to communicate its values and what it is like being part of the community.

Admissions Criteria

Oversubscription criteria: Any child with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the school will be admitted regardless of numbers. The following criteria apply in priority order: 1) Children In Care (Looked After Children); 2) Children who live in catchment, attend one of our feeder schools, and have a sibling already here; 3) Children who live in catchment and have a sibling here; 4) Children who live in catchment and attend one of our feeder schools; 5) All other children who live in catchment; 6) Children of school staff members; 7) Children who live outside catchment but attend feeders and already have a sibling here; 8) Children outside catchment but have a sibling here; 9) Children outside catchment but attend one of our feeder schools; 10) Any other children, ranked according to distance. In cases of equal merit, priority goes to children living nearest the college by shortest straight line distance. The catchment area includes Bottisham, Burwell, Cheveley, Kettlefields (Dullingham / Stetchworth villages), Fen Ditton, Fulbourn, Great Wilbraham, Teversham, Swaffham Bulbeck, and Swaffham Prior. Travel: Students living within catchment and more than three miles from the College are entitled to travel free on a bus. If you live out of catchment, parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from school as no transport is provided. The current Admissions Policy is available on the policies page. Pupil admission number is 300 for September 2024; last year we received 454 applications of which 314 were first preference.
