Head Teacher's Message

The Headteacher describes Soham Village College as a delightful place to learn and work, with skilled, committed staff and strong relationships between staff and students. Behaviour is good in classrooms and social time. The school offers a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities, with GCSE results described as consistently strong and Ofsted noting the school’s academic excellence.

Admissions Criteria

Admission to Soham Village College is allocated according to the school’s oversubscription criteria. Looked after children have first priority; then children living in the area served by the listed feeder primary schools; then children not living in the area but who attend a feeder primary school; priority is also given to the children of staff. If the school is not oversubscribed, all applicants will be offered a place. When applications cannot be separated by these criteria, the distance between home and the school is used as a tie breaker, with closer applicants given priority; if distances are the same, random allocation is used.
