Parayhouse is a specialist provision for young people aged 8–16 years with speech, language and communication difficulties. Communication is at the heart of what we do, with an integrated Speech and Language Therapy approach embedded in the school. The school offers a warm, inclusive, family-like environment and aims to provide a wide range of positive experiences to guide students toward a successful and fulfilling future. Co-Headteachers are Holly Bristow and Verity Carnevale.
Parayhouse accepts students between Year 3 and Year 11 who have speech, language and communication needs as a primary diagnosis. Students can join at any time within these year groups provided the school can meet their needs and there is capacity. Consultations can come from local authorities or parents. If the referral is directly from parents, the school can determine whether they can meet needs and offer a place but will need consultation and acceptance from the local authority before the placement can be processed unless privately funded. Following a visit, if it is thought Parayhouse might be a suitable placement, then one of the following will take place: a) The student will be visited in their current setting by a member of the senior leadership team; b) The student will be invited to an observation day at Parayhouse; the number and length of days will vary depending on the student’s needs. Parents may be asked to provide the student’s most recent Annual Review/EHCP Review minutes and other reports. A place is offered on the following criteria: We can meet the child’s Special Educational Needs; The child fits into the existing group structure; There will be a place available at the time entry is sought; If we are unable to offer a place, we will refer parents to other educational establishments which may meet the child’s needs.
The 2025/26 information is as follows: Fees for 2025-2026: £31,729 (£38,075 including VAT) per annum; £10,576 (£12,692 including VAT) per term. Where ESFA funding is in place, our annual fee is reduced by £10,000, resulting in: £21,729 (£26,075 including VAT) per annum; £7,243 (£8,692 including VAT) per term. This fee is fully inclusive of all Speech & Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy and ensures the financial security of the charity whilst providing the best possible provision for children with the most complex needs. Within the NMSS/Independent SEN provision of Greater London we are still the best value for money, with no additional costs for therapeutic intervention. Please note, if the family is entitled to free school meals, this charge will be in addition to the school fees and will need to be met by the Local Authority. In addition, these fees are subject to annual uplift.
