Curriculum Highlights

KS3 consists of five teaching periods per day, each lasting one hour. KS4 has a compulsory core of 12 periods with the remaining 14 periods organised into two option groups (Guided Choices). The curriculum identifies core knowledge to be mastered from years 7 to 11 to enable progression. The curriculum supports the aims of the National Curriculum: successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens. There is explicit focus on developing pupils’ ability to read, talk and write the discipline-specific language across all subjects.
