The school ethos is rooted in Christian values; it emphasises mutual respect and self-responsibility, with a wellbeing programme that places strong emphasis on personal development and healthy relationships.
A message from the Head emphasizes Thames as a genuinely small, bespoke school with genuinely small classes, a flexible curriculum, strong relationships and a commitment to every child’s growth. It highlights the balance of traditional skills with technology and AI, a central, easily accessible London location, and a strong pastoral focus with opportunities to visit and tour the school.

Thames is a mainstream school with recognised provision for a small number of pupils with mild Specific Learning Difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia or dyscalculia. Pupils are expected to complete a GCSE and A level curriculum and, if a pupil has SEND or a disability, an informal discussion with the SENDCo can be arranged; specialist one-to-one tuition can be provided in addition to the school fees.
The admissions process includes an entrance assessment (with a written component and, for September entry into Year 7 and Year 9, a practical component), a reference from the applicant’s current school, and an interview with a senior member of staff. All applications are handled in confidence and the Head’s decision is final.
Fees for the academic year 2025/2026 are £10,296 per term inclusive of VAT. Fees may be paid in advance, termly or monthly by direct debit. When considering value, Thames offers a teaching staff to pupil ratio of 1:6 with small classes and a broad, flexible curriculum. There are no additional charges for public exam fees, textbooks, co-curricular clubs, theatre trips, or compulsory trips and field studies. Another page states fees are £8,580 per term exclusive of VAT (£10,296 per term inclusive of 20% VAT).
