"I can do all things because Christ gives me strength (Philippians 4:13)"
As a church school, our Christian beliefs and values are at the heart of everything we do.
Welcome to St Matthew's CE (Aided) Primary School and Nursery Centre. The Headteacher describes an innovative and inspiring school where pupils are challenged to think, strive for continuous improvement and become life-long learners within a caring, Christian ethos. The message emphasises teamwork, respect for others of different faiths, and a commitment to helping each pupil reach their potential.
Early Help support is provided to families when a challenge first develops or when a new or continuing difficulty doesn't meet the threshold for specialist support. The school will work with the family to provide tailored support and may signpost to external services with consent. Support is confidential and the level of help can be decided by the family. The school can advise on issues such as eating issues, sleeping, toileting, behaviour, young carers, uniform, food banks, housing, financial support, attendance, and mental health and wellbeing concerns. Access to SENDIASS, PODS and other services may be arranged as needed.
Admissions are coordinated by the Local Authority. Online applications can be made via www.telford.gov.uk/admissions by 15 January 2025. The school operates a Single Level Entry policy for September 2025 admissions. As a Church of England Aided School, the Governing Body is the Admitting Authority. If an application is refused, the Local Authority provides information about the appeals process. The Headteacher may show prospective parents around the school as part of the admissions process.
