Curriculum Highlights

English: reading fluently and with understanding; younger pupils follow reading schemes; progress to free reading; writing with grammar and spelling; speaking and listening; 'Eisteddfod' poetry and drama; Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar. Admissions Criteria

Handel House is non-selective. Entry involves informal assessments on arrival (including reading, mathematics and a free writing task) and behaviour assessment. A Flightpath tracker is used to maximise each pupil’s attainment. Many pupils aim for local grammar schools; others join independent senior schools or local academies. An offer follows a probational period of one term. A registration fee of £150 applies (£75 deducted from final term’s fees). Registration is not applicable for Nursery or Kindergarten pupils who are in receipt of government funding.

Financial Information

Fees 2025-2026 (all fees are based upon a 3 term school year): Years 3,4,5 & 6 – £2,175; Years 1 and 2 – £2,100; Kindergarten (Full Time) – £1,950; 4-5 years Nursery (Part Time) – £8.00 per hour. Early Bird (08:00-08:30) – £4.00 per session; After School Club (15:30-16:30) – £8.00 per session. Fees are payable termly in advance and are not refundable for absence. Fees shown include VAT where applicable. The school is in receipt of nursery funding for three and four year olds; where funding is not received, then fees apply.
