Headteacher Mr I Graham welcomes visitors and describes Marshfields as a unique, strong and vibrant special school. The ethos is 'We are Unique' and Ofsted graded the school as Good in September 2023.

Curriculum Highlights

English Maths Science Humanities Computing Food D&T Performing Arts Art SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) learning Strong emphasis on English and Maths with 5 lessons per week in English and Maths 1:1 and intervention sessions for literacy and/or numeracy

Marshfields School utilises a broad range of strategies to support our students as standard provision. This is detailed in our Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision: Special School Context (OAIP - SSC) that has been adapted from the Local Authorities OAIP.

Admissions Criteria

DFE age range: 7-19. Primary need: Learning Difficulties. Typical levels of triangulated functioning: a cognitive profile at or below the 2nd percentile. Attainment in the core subjects will be significantly below chronological age expectations. Applying for a place at Marshfields involves EHCP requirements and is overseen by a SEND panel with multi-professional membership; steps include visiting the school and coordinating with local authorities.
