St Michael’s is a Church of England Primary School with a strong Christian ethos. It has a close partnership with St Michael’s Church, led by the Headteacher and the parish priest, Reverend Huw, with regular worship and a shared commitment to faith and service. As a Voluntary Aided school, the majority of governors are appointed by the Parochial Church Council (PCC).

Headteacher Lucy Perry welcomes readers to St Michael’s as a warm, vibrant, inclusive school community rooted in faith, aiming to nurture every child academically, personally and spiritually.

Curriculum Highlights

RE is taught weekly following the Manchester Diocese Syllabus for RE. Maths (Power Maths) and English (quality text‑based) taught daily in the morning. Geography, History, and Science taught discretely; Arts enhance learning and may be integrated with topic work. Opportunities for fieldwork and regular visits linked to learning; two visits per year; Pupil Premium funding covers trips. Educational Visits: high and low-cost trips; voluntary donations fund experiences; School Fund invites a voluntary £10 per child per term to fund resources and extra-curricular activities.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Wraparound care is provided on site as part of St Michael’s Wrap Club, offering Breakfast Club from 7.30am to 8.50am and After School Club from 3.25pm to 6.00pm (Friday finish 5.00pm). Booking is online via Magic Booking; session charges apply: Breakfast Club £7 for 1 child (£12 for 2, £17 for 3), After School Club £12.20 for 1 child (£21.20 for 2, £30.20 for 3). Late pickup charges and cancellation rules apply; holiday club operates on listed half-term and holiday dates; bookings open in July.

SEND Provision

SEND provision is led by the SENDCo, Sue Smith, supported by Deputy SENDCo Grace Nuttall. The school adopts a graduated assess, plan, do, review approach, works with families and external professionals, signs Trafford Local Offer for SEND, and provides tailored support.

Admissions Criteria

St Michael’s has a 52‑place Nursery class; Nursery admissions are processed by the school office. The entitlement includes 15 hours or 30 hours weekly free Nursery education; Places are allocated in accordance with admissions criteria; a Nursery place does not guarantee a Reception place; applications to Trafford Admissions are required for Reception.
