Curriculum Highlights

Follows the National Curriculum and uses White Rose Schemes of Work as a guide to support teachers with their planning and assessment. A mastery approach to Maths with 4 differentiated levels of challenge provided through 'Chilli Challenges'. Phonics and Early Reading taught with the Little Wandle scheme; reading development monitored to achieve fluency and comprehension. EYFS uses Think Equal programme; KS1/KS2 use the Jigsaw PSHE Programme; RE taught with 'The Vine and Branches' (diocese-directed) and 'The Way, the Truth and The Life' in EYFS. Reading progress is supported by progression grids; ongoing learning walks, assessments and pupil progress meetings. Music involves weekly curriculum lessons, a Junior Choir, Samba Band, instrumental lessons via Trafford Music Service, and school concerts. Curriculum is enriched by first hand experiences and connections to local, national and global contexts; Mini Vinnies and other pupil leadership opportunities support charitable work. Learning is inclusive with adaptations for SEND; strong focus on British Values and social development; learning is sequenced to build long-term memory.
