We are a Roman Catholic School with foundations in the Salesian ethos based on the values of Saint John Bosco.
Headteacher Mike Fitzsimons welcomes readers to Thornleigh Salesian College, emphasising its Roman Catholic identity with a Salesian ethos, the HOME-SCHOOL-CHURCH-PLAYGROUND concept, strong pastoral support, assemblies, chaplaincy, and a Curriculum for Life culture, with high aspirations and a caring, values-driven community.
The Inclusion team provides SEND support, including dynamic SEND identification, referrals to external services, collaboration with families through Early Help and other services, aimed at enabling every student to thrive; staff training and wellbeing resources are provided to support students and their families.
Thornleigh Salesian College is heavily oversubscribed. 270 places are allocated in Year 7. Oversubscription criteria include: looked after or previously looked after; Roman Catholic children who live in a nominated parish and attend an associated RC primary school; Roman Catholic children who live in a nominated parish; Roman Catholic children who attend an associated primary school but do not live in a nominated parish; Roman Catholic children who have a sibling in the school; other Roman Catholic children; children of permanent staff; other children in an associated RC primary school; other children with a sibling in the school. There is a period of consultation for admissions arrangements every seven years, with the last noted period 2021–2022.
