Ethos & Values

Gospel values are part of our school rules, policies and procedures. Saints-in-training

We are proud to be a Catholic School, and Religious Education is at the heart of what we do. Gospel values are part of our school rules, policies and procedures, and we aim for pupils to grow in faith and make a difference. We believe we are all Saints-in-training and living out our mission statement helps us become the person God created us to be. Religious education is taught using Come and See and enhanced by Caritas in Action and Building the Kingdom, with active parish involvement including Masses and a Sacramental Programme.

Curriculum Highlights

RE is 10% of timetable: Come and See is used as the basis for teaching, enhanced by Caritas in Action and Building the Kingdom. Curriculum follows the liturgical calendar, with learning about the Church’s year and Christ’s life, and Catholic social teachings embedded in PSHE (TenTen). The curriculum includes themed days/weeks such as Earth Day and Black History Month, and uses Come and See’s Explore, Reveal and Respond for Scripture learning. Each child has an individual RE book and each class has a Big Book recording learning with artwork and photographs; there is whole-school collaboration on religious celebrations and stories. Masses and Sacramental Programme: class Masses at church once per academic year; Year 3+ participate in the Sacramental Programme.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are coordinated by Bolton Council. The school provides admissions policy information (Admissions Policy 2027/28 – For Consultation) and holds an open morning for Reception intake; prospective parents can contact the school for tours and information. If transferring between primary schools, applications are handled by the relevant local authority; if living in Bolton, apply through Bolton’s admissions process.
