Curriculum Highlights

Key Stage 3 Curriculum: broad, balanced and flexible; follows National Curriculum but goes beyond; KS3 subjects include English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, two modern foreign languages (French, Spanish or German), Latin, Geography, History, Religious Studies, ICT, Art & Design, Design & Technology (Textiles), Food & Nutrition, Music, Drama, Physical Education (including swimming), PSHEE, Cognito, Shared Curriculum. Latin taught throughout the school; Cognito Lessons and Shared Curriculum featured in KS3; two foreign languages by KS3. Key Stage 4 Curriculum includes Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Design Technology: Textiles, Drama, English, Geography, History, Maths, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, Physical Education and Religious Studies. Sixth Form offers 27 A-Level subjects with dedicated careers guidance and a Sixth Form Centre for study and social spaces.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Wraparound care is available for Nursery to Year 6, with Before School (7:30am arrival with breakfast available), After School care (3:30pm–4:30pm, then 3:30pm–5:30pm, and up to 6:00pm) with corresponding charges. A Holiday Club operates during school holidays (8:00am–4:00pm). There is also a weekly Little Learners session for babies and pre-school children up to four years old on Tuesdays (10:30am–11:45am). Bookings are paid in advance (BACS accepted).

Admissions Criteria

Entry is academically selective. Assessments are taken in Year 6 for entry the following September, covering English, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, plus a confidential report from the pupil’s current school. Assessments may be online or at the school premises. The entrance exam is computer-based (50 minutes) and does not involve special preparation. Interviews with the Headmistress or staff are held on exam day. Offers are issued after consideration of exam results, school report and interview, with results typically posted in December and final decision required by early March. There are entry options to join at other points if places are available. Bursaries and scholarships are available at key entry points (Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 12).
