Curriculum Highlights

Key Stage 3 is a broad and balanced three-year curriculum that fulfils the National Curriculum. From Year 7, pupils can learn both French and Spanish before selecting a language from Year 8. All pupils are taught Geography, History, Computer Science and a language to support the English Baccalaureate. Pupils experience a range of arts subjects (Art, Dance, Drama and Music) and Design & Technology (Food Technology, Woodwork, Architectural Design and Textiles). PIE (Philosophy, Identity and Ethics) lessons support RSHE, online safety and healthy relationships, and regular P.E. lessons support wellbeing and exercise. Key Stage 4 offers a wide range of subjects including Art (GCSE), Computer Science (GCSE), Drama (GCSE), DT (GCSE), English Literature (GCSE), English Language (GCSE), Enterprise (BTEC), French (GCSE), Geography (GCSE), Health & Social Care (BTEC), History (GCSE), Sociology (GCSE), Spanish (GCSE), Science – Triple (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Science – Combined (GCSE), RE (Short Course). Sociology is taught from Year 10 to provide a pathway to studying this subject at Key Stage 5. Vocational qualifications offered include Digital Information Technology, Health and Social Care and Enterprise for Business.
