Curriculum Highlights

The Cedars curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and is broad and balanced; it is differentiated to meet the wide range of abilities of the pupils. Phonics is taught using Phonics International as the basis for teaching phonics. Differentiation to ensure all pupils can access learning and re-build their love for learning.

SEND Provision

The Cedars Primary School is a special needs school with SEMH as the primary need. All pupils have an EHCP or are in the process of statutory assessment. Many have additional needs including ASD and ADHD; 29% have a diagnosis of ASD and a further 17% awaiting assessment or diagnosis; 25% are diagnosed with ADHD with 4% currently on the assessment pathway. ASD and ADHD often co-occur and 17% of our pupils are either diagnosed with both or are likely to be. 39% have communication and interaction needs requiring specialist input. The SENCO is Lisa Welch (SEN Lead). The school aims to provide every child with the best education possible within a safe, supportive and stimulating environment, with equality of opportunity and full inclusion. It also references the Hounslow Local Offer for SEND.
