Curriculum Highlights

The curriculum is organised into a two-week timetable with 40-minute lessons. Key Stage 3 introduces languages (French, German in Year 7, with a second language from options including Latin and Russian) and integrates Science in the early years, with Personal Development and Citizenship taught within the curriculum. Key Stage 4 follows GCSE structure with multiple subjects and compulsory components including non-examination PE and RE, with options to study additional subjects to form a 10-subject curriculum. Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form) offers a wide range of A Level subjects; most students study four subjects in Year 12 and continue with three or four in Year 13. There is a strong emphasis on thinking skills, independent learning, and opportunities beyond the classroom. The school collaborates with external organisations (Thinking Matters and the University of Exeter) to help students adapt to new challenges and become future-proof learners.
