Ethos & Values

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire"

Oracy is integral. Pupils are encouraged to use Standard English. Staff model pronunciation and teach children how to enunciate. Phonics teaching is robust The diverse curriculum reflects our desire to operate with autonomy. We have invested significant sums in the arts, sport and the purchase and replenishing of quality books. Nothing is compromised. Homework is absolute and the exacting standards in regard to this are respected by pupils and their families. Pupils are frequently referred to as ‘scholars’.
