Head Teacher's Message

Head Teacher: Mrs Caine welcomes you to Thornley Academy. She emphasizes inclusion, every child is unique, high expectations of behaviour, a love of learning, responsiveness to concerns, and celebrating each child.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

We are open for children in Nursery to Year 6 until 6pm if this is required. Children receive a snack, drink and take part in a range of activities. This is currently £5.75 a night and is paid through Parent Pay (in advance of attendance).

SEND Provision

The school offers a comprehensive SEND support programme. Policies include SEND Policy, SEN Information Report, Accessibility Policy, SEND Rationale, and LA Local Offer. SEND Co-ordinator is Lisa Hughes; Local Governor for SEND is Adam Green. A Parent Support Advisor (Jane Gibbon) supports parents with routines, attendance, emotional wellbeing, sleep, etc. Mental Health Lead: J Gibbon and J Robertson-Wyatt.

Admissions Criteria

Thornley Academy is non-selective for the local community. PAN is 30, admitting up to 30 pupils into Reception. 2-Year-Old and Nursery places are available. Reception and In Year Transfers are handled by the local authority. Admissions policy available in Policies Section.

Financial Information

Breakfast Club is free. After-school wraparound is £5.75 per night (Nursery to Year 6), paid through Parent Pay in advance. Nursery 30 Hours Childcare Offer also available.
