St Mary's is a mixed, voluntary-aided Catholic primary day school with strong links to the Church and local parishes. The school aims to nurture pupils within a Gospel-values framework, with daily prayer and liturgy and Catholic Social Teaching guiding school life. It emphasises human dignity, solidarity, the common good, subsidiarity, participation, the preferential option for the poor, and stewardship. The school supports charities such as CAFOD and local food banks and works closely with the local parish priest (Fr Ged) and the parishes of St Helen's, St Peter and Paul’s and St Joseph's.
