Headteacher Claire Howells describes Wellbrook as a small school that makes a big difference, specialising in supporting young people aged 9-16 with autism and SEMH needs, offering personalised learning pathways and a holistic approach.

Curriculum Highlights

Core Curriculum is as close to the National Curriculum as possible; bespoke pathways for SEND. Two pathways: Pathway 1 for pupils at or above age-related expectations leading to Key Stage 2 SATs and GCSEs; Pathway 2 for pupils below age-related expectations leading to Functional Skills and Entry Level Certificates. Personal development includes PSHE, citizenship education, creative and aesthetic learning, enrichment activities and therapeutic approaches to support pupils’ social, emotional and mental health. Personal development aims to support spiritual, moral, social and cultural development; promote British values; provide character education; develop pupil's cultural capital; improve independence.
